Hyundai Motor Co. is set to release the fifth-generation model of its midsize sports utility vehicle (SUV) Santa Fe on Wednesday.
This marks a full redesign after five years since the launch of the fourth generation in 2018. The Santa Fe, Hyundai's flagship SUV, has sold around 1.4 million units domestically since its debut in 2000.
The new Santa Fe features a rugged and robust look with an angular design. It boasts a large tailgate, ample interior space, and various convenience and infotainment features. Its extended wheelbase and wide tailgate enhance its sturdy impression.
Notable design elements include the H-shaped lights on the front and rear, a reinterpretation of Hyundai's emblem. The unique side profile is crafted from the large tailgate, and sharp fenders with distinctive volumes, as well as 21-inch large wheels, accentuating the robust feel.
Despite its angular design, it maintains high aerodynamic performance. The optimized rear spoiler angle, side edge application, vehicle undercovers and top and bottom active air flaps contribute to achieving a drag coefficient of 0.294.

The interior of the new Santa Fe features a terrace concept with a large tailgate that extends the sense of space and openness to the exterior. The increased overall body size provides a comfortable interior space, offering a luggage capacity of 725 liters (based on the German Association of the Automotive Industry standard), which can accommodate four golf bags and four Boston bags.
Hyundai has incorporated various convenience and infotainment features that enhance both urban and outdoor lifestyles in the new Santa Fe. A newly developed two-way multi-console is equipped, allowing passengers in the first or second row to individually open and use the armrest storage and tray, increasing usability.
Moreover, Hyundai has introduced for the first time a smartphone dual wireless charging system, enabling simultaneous wireless charging of two smartphones within the vehicle. A UV-C sterilization multi-tray is installed on top of the glove box in the front passenger seat, ensuring hygienic use of frequently used items.
In addition, various convenience features such as a digital center mirror, over-the-air software updates, built-in cam 2, 220V inverter, fingerprint authentication system, digital key 2, advanced radar-based rear-side occupant alert system, and USB C-type charger (up to 27 watts) have been applied to enhance customer satisfaction.
