LG Electronics launches TV-specific camera LG Smart Cam

LG Electronics Inc. announced on Wednesday that it has released a TV-specific camera, LG Smart Cam.

LG Smart Cam supports full HD high-resolution shooting and has dual microphones. Users can connect to smart TV without additional equipment and engage home workout or dance lesson programs through webOS applications. It’s compatible with LG’s all smart TVs released since 2022.

During video conference from home, meeting materials and participant videos simultaneously on the big screen.

To address privacy concerns, the smart cam includes a built-in cover that can be used to block the camera lens when it is not in use, thus preventing potential hacking threats.

"We will further expand the scope of customer learning and entertainment content experiences by strengthening self-development content such as home workout on smart TVs, and by leading the LG Smart Cam, which synergizes with them," head of product planning for LG Electronics' HE department Baek Sun-pil said.
