Why it stands out
Min Sung, early adopter of new tech to perfect precision molding

Despite being an old boy in the Korean injection molding industry with a history of nearly 50 years, Min Sung Precision Co. is not afraid of learning and acquiring new technology or adapting to new industry trends to improve its services and products.
Thanks to its open-minded approach to business, Min Sung Precision in 2008 became the first company to introduce water-assisted injection molding to Korea, home to many globally recognized manufacturing companies.
The country’s auto giant Hyundai Motor Group reached out Min Sung Precision to develop plastic pipes for its new car engines – the Kappa engine in 2014 and the Hyundai R engine in 2016 – using Water Injection Technology (WIT).

WIT creates hollow or partly hollow parts during molding to enable direct cooling inside the part to core out thick sections.
While willing to learn new technologies from peers and partners in other industries, Min Sung Precision also actively transfers its expertise in molding to others like an open-source hardware company and is developing its proprietary technology including a multi-injection unit developed in 2022.
IN-HOUSE TOOLING CENTER
This does not mean it neglects its foundational business.
With its own in-house tooling center, Min Sung Precision designs and manufactures high-precision molds for customers but also makes high-quality medical and electronic parts and components such as smartphone cases with its precision injection molding and high-speed cutting (HSC) machines.
Its HSC machine ensures the surface finish is just 3 microns, according to the company. It also supplies light guide plate molds, too.
HIGH-PRECISION MOLDS
Min Sung Precision builds high-precision molds for liquid silicon rubber (LSR) and thermos plastics, 2K injection molds, vacuum injection molds and water-assisted injection molds that can guarantee uniform mold specifications and high-level reproducibility. It also manufactures precision parts and components for customers using all these respective molding processes.

REPAIR SERVICE FOR RIVAL PRODUCTS
On top of offering maintenance service for its own molds, Min Sung Precision can fix molds made by its rivals especially those from Japan and Europe, which differ from Korean molds in terms of structure and materials. Its repair service has been well received by Korean customers as it can save customers money and time needed to send the imported molds to their original countries for repair or to wait for parts from foreign countries.
Min Sung Precision repairs high-precision molds used for LSR molding, thermos plastic molding with hot and cold runner systems, 2K injection molds, known as double injection or two-shot molding that is considered a highly meticulous process to produce complicated molded parts from two different materials.

It offers prototype/pilot services with its 3D design/modeling tools using stereolithography (SLA) and fused deposition modeling (FDM) 3D printing.
CUSTOMERS, OVERSEAS OPERATIONS
Min Sung Precision mainly supplies its products to companies big and small in Korea and Japan. Its partners include ARaymond, Scholle Packaging, PME fluidtec, Hyundai Motor, Kia and Korea Institute of Industrial Technology. It runs two factories – one in Korea and the other, Min-Sheng Optoelectronic, in Suzhou, China, its first overseas operation and factory built in 2007.
