A large-scale business event was held in Dubai to support the expansion of Korean small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) into the Middle East.
The Korea Federation of Small and Medium Businesses (KBIZ) announced on Tuesday that it sent 50 outstanding SMEs in fields such as medical devices, skincare, beauty and smart farming to organize the Korea Trade Fair on June 12-13 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The event was attended by tech startups, venture capital firms, accelerators and other entities interested in expanding into the Middle East. Over 140 buyers from the Gulf Cooperation Council countries were pre-invited and participated in export consultations.
"UAE is not only the country where Korean SMEs export the most in the Middle East but also a gateway to the African market," Chairman of KBIZ Kim Ki-mun said. "Through this export consultation meeting, I hope to strengthen collaboration between the two countries."
