South Korea's game develop and design studio Shift Up has hired AI developer Kim Tae-hoon, who hails from Silicon Valley, to enhance its game artificial intelligence (AI) technology.
Kim has experience in developing ChatGPT as a former developer at OpenAI, a globally renowned AI research company co-founded by Elon Musk and others in Silicon Valley.
He has worked on various projects involving AI technologies such as reinforcement learning, robotics and deep learning model optimization. Recently, he founded a startup based on mobile motion capture technology, providing real-time avatar creation solutions.
Shift Up aims to strengthen its technical expertise and professionalism in the field of game AI through the addition of Kim.
Its goal is to further advance the AI of all game characters and non-player characters, providing a more realistic and immersive gaming experience, ultimately raising the overall quality of the games.
"To transform in-game AI into a valuable technology for users, we have brought in engineer Kim Tae-hoon to focus on internalizing and advancing our technology," CEO of Shift Up Kim Hyung-tae said.
"Additionally, we plan to continue our ongoing industry collaboration with leading institutions such as POSTECH and KAIST in the AI field," he added.
