In the exhibition, SK Chemicals will show eight types of "sustainable plastic materials" manufactured using recycled materials or using post-consumer PET (polyethylene terephthalate). Notable examples include "Ecotria CR" and "Skypet CR," copolyesters recycled through chemical processes.
The company will also introduce the "Ecotria R" product line, produced from physically recycled materials, and the "Claro" product line, which utilizes recycled PET. These products are eco-friendly materials that can replace widely used cosmetic containers. The company aims to accelerate its market penetration in China by focusing on cosmetic containers based on eco-friendly materials.
"We have prepared the exhibition in response to the growing demand for recycling in the cosmetics packaging market," a company official said. "We will introduce our products to global cosmetic companies in the burgeoning Chinese market, aiming to increase our sales."
According to market research firm Euromonitor, the Chinese cosmetics market reached 572.6 billion yuan ($82.5 billion) in 2021. With China's per-capita spending on cosmetics being only a quarter of that in the United States, there is high potential for growth.
