South Korea’s Doosan Group on Sunday said its chairman Park Jeong-won visited the construction trade show ConExpo-Con-Agg in Las Vegas on Wednesday to check the business strategy of the conglomerate’s American affiliate Doosan Bobcat.
Visiting the event with Vice Chairman Park Ji-won and Doosan Bobcat Vice Chairman Scott Park, the chairman met and encouraged the affiliate’s employees there, the group said.
“The market situation this year hasn’t been good, but at times like this, we’ll first secure cutting-edge technology and get an early lead on the future market through bold investments with confidence,” it added.
Doosan Bobcat last year saw its best performance in history with sales of 8.6 trillion won ($6.5 billion) and operating profit of 1 trillion won.
The chairman thus awarded the 2023 Doosan Management Grand Prize to executives and employees such as Mike Ballweber, president of Doosan Bobcat North America.
Chairman Park, the vice chairman and others attended ConExpo-Con-Agg, which ran from March 14-18, to directly handle North America, the main market for Doosan Bobcat.
Based in the US, the triennial event is one of the world’s top three construction equipment exhibitions.
