Smilegate, a South Korean game developer and publisher, said on Friday that it will launch its new cross-play game "Wonderers: Eternal World" globally this year after conducting a closed beta test (CBT) in North America in April.
Wonderers is an action-adventure game that allows players to explore a fairytale-like world and interact with various characters and creatures. The game supports cross-play between PC and mobile devices, enabling users to enjoy the same content and features regardless of their platform.
During the CBT in North America, Smilegate will test the game’s performance, stability and user feedback. The company plans to improve the game’s quality and completeness based on the CBT results before launching it officially later this year.
The game was developed by Angel Games, a domestic game studio that has created popular titles such as "Lord of Dice and Tower of God M." Smilegate acquired Angel Games in 2019 as part of its strategy to expand its global portfolio of games.
Park Ji-hoon, CEO of Angel Games, said he hopes to meet the expectations of users who are waiting for Wonderers in Korea and other regions.
Kwon Ik-hoon, head of Smilegate’s main office, said he aims to make Wonderers an intellectual property (IP) that can be loved by users around the world.
