In today’s connected world, the ultimate gadget consumers want brings together everything they need at any time, without hassle.

Samsung Electronics Co. hopes its latest Galaxy laptop series will compete with archrival Apple Inc.’s MacBook series.

The South Korean tech giant on Wednesday unveiled three new notebook computers – the Galaxy Book3 Ultra, Book3 Pro 360 and Book3 Pro – during the Galaxy Unpacked 2023 event in San Francisco.

The Galaxy Book3 series, its latest flagship PC lineup, features ultra-high-performance computing as well as enhanced connectivity, making the notebooks “an ideal companion” for its brand-new Galaxy S23 series smartphones, it said.

Equipped with the latest Intel Core i9 processor, an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Laptop GPU for studio-grade graphics and a 16-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with 3K resolution for stunning visual quality, the Galaxy Book3 Ultra delivers a comprehensive and powerful PC experience, Samsung said.

The Galaxy Book3 Pro 360 features a 2-in-1 convertible form factor with S Pen functionality while the Galaxy Book3 Pro is thin and light and comes with a clamshell design.

UNLOCKING NEW STANDARDS FOR PC EXPERIENCE

“Samsung’s new premium PC lineup unlocks a new standard for PC experiences. It has the most powerful processor in the Galaxy Book series and capabilities that enable next-level connectivity across the entire Galaxy ecosystem,” the company said.

When linked to Microsoft’s Phone Link, which has on-the-go productivity features, the Galaxy Books3 series allows users to enjoy seamless phone-to-PC connectivity across operating systems, according to Samsung.

Intel’s new processor will make the Galaxy Book3 series the fastest Galaxy Book to date, it said.

Also, for the first time, Samsung used its Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, previously reserved for its premium smartphones, in the Galaxy Book3 Ultra and Pro series.

“The latest Galaxy Book3 series further enriches our connected offerings. It is tailor-made for Galaxy enthusiasts looking for ultra-high computing performance and seamless connected Galaxy experiences to maximize their productivity and creativity,” said TM Roh, president and head of Samsung’s Mobile eXperience (MX) Business.

Preorders for the Galaxy Book3 Ultra and Pro models will begin on Feb. 14 in selected markets, including Korea.

Samsung hopes the Galaxy S23 smartphones and Book3 laptops can rival Apple’s high-end line of iPhones and MacBooks.

Samsung is the world’s largest smartphone manufacturer by volume but lags Apple by a large margin in the premium segment.
