South Korea's SKC Solmics, a wholly owned fine ceramics subsidiary of SKC, on Sunday said it changed its name to SK Enpulse.
With 100% investment from SKC's semiconductor materials unit, SK Enpulse gets its new name from the English prefix "en" meaning "to enable" and "pulse" meaning "flow and wave." The company also said its new name expresses its intent to develop into a company of dynamic growth with a new mission of creating trends in semiconductor materials.
Through its steady research and development spanning over 30 years, SK Enpulse has led the localization of fine ceramic materials in domestic semiconductors.
On the occasion of its name change, SK Enpulse also announced plans to take a big step in emerging as a global company for environmental, social and governance(ESG) solutions in semiconductors and accelerating growth of new businesses.
“Our corporate value will reach 1.5 trillion won ($1.2 billion) by 2025 through our rebirth as a company based on high value-added semiconductor materials,” an SK Enpulse source said.
