SK Signet Inc., the No.1 company in the US ultra-high speed charger market, will showcase a new standard ultra-fast charger V2 at CES 2023, the world's largest IT and electronic fair to be held in Las Vegas in January next year.

SK Signet, an electric vehicle (EV) charger manufacturer affiliated with South Korea's conglomerate SK Group, announced on Thursday that it would participate in SK Group's integrated pavilion during CES 2023 to unveil V2 for the first time.

The V2 charger enables more stable and faster charging by improving the efficiency of the power module, which is a key component of EV chargers, and the modular design of major components can shorten the production period and reduce cost, maximizing efficiency for charging station operators.

As it is equipped with a battery diagnosis service function jointly developed with SK On, so one can check the battery condition at the same time as charging.

The optional top banner at the top of the product allows customers to check the usage status of the charger from a distance.

The 32-inch large display was designed to be controlled even at a low position in consideration of the disabled.

It can expose video content, enabling charging station operators to have additional business opportunities such as advertising.

The V2 product to be produced at SK Signet's Texas plant will be the first ultra-high-speed charger in the US.

The production will help the company to benefit from the national electric vehicle infrastructure (NEVI) project under which the US government has set a subsidy budget of about $5 billion by 2030.

SK's Texas plant is capable of producing more than 10,000 ultra-fast chargers every year and will start pilot operation in the first quarter of next year.

"We will solidify our position as the No. 1 supplier of ultra-fast chargers in North America and help EVs become a reality for more Americans, said SK Signet CEO Shin Jung-ho.
