KSOE signs agreement with Omani company to build 2 LNG carriers

The vessels will be delivered to Oman's Asyad Shipping by the first half of 2026

Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering Co., the shipbuilding holding company of the Hyundai Heavy Industries Group, said on Thursday that it recently signed a deal to build two liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers with the Omani shipping company Asyad Shipping. The order volume is 650 billion won ($509 million).

The LNG carriers will be built by Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries in Yeongam, South Jeolla Province, and will be delivered by the first half of 2026.

With this contract, Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering received orders for a total of 197 vessels worth $23.9 billion, achieving 137.3% of its annual order target of $17.4 billion.
