Hanwha Hotels & Resorts Co. announced on Tuesday that it signed with Mohegan Inspire Entertainment Resort a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for the consignment management of three five-star hotels under construction on Yeongjong Island where Incheon International Airport is located.
Mohegan Inspire, an international resort property developer, plans to create the largest integrated resort in Northeast Asia on the island through a four-stage project by 2031.
As the first phase of the project, three five-star hotels with 1,275 guestrooms, a 15,000-seat arena, a convention center, and a foreigners-only casino are to be built.
"We expect that the combination of our company's customer service experience and Mohegan Inspire's development capabilities will create a new premium integrated resort," said Kim Hyeong-jo, CEO of Hanwha Hotels & Resorts.
