South Korea's Jobis & Villains Corp., which operates the tax return service "3o3," announced on Thursday that it has been officially registered on the Global Entrepreneur Programme (GEP), an official support program of the UK Department for International Trade (DIT).
GEP's primary role is attracting significant breakthrough technologies and platforms to the UK.
Selected startups will receive various support for relocating their businesses to the UK, including special visa passes, mentoring from experienced entrepreneurs, exchanges with investors, and legal advice.
Since its launch in 2004, GEP has supported 1,100 global startups (13 from Korea), and Jarvis & Villains was selected as the first company in the tax-tech sector.
Global demand for tax technology is growing rapidly as personal tax affairs are becoming more complicated due to such factors as the rise of gig workers and muti-job players and the expansion of contactless economic activities.
GEP Operations Head Michele Davidson-Jones said, "Jobis & Villains is an innovative startup that popularized personal tax automation services with AI technology for the first time in Korea."
"We are confident that it will succeed globally, starting with resolving UK tax blind spots."
Jobis & Villains is going to establish a subsidiary in the UK in the first half of next year and develop local customized tax services.
Through support from the UK government and support for various human networks, it plans to expand its business areas to British Commonwealth countries with the support of the British government.
