South Korea's e-commerce platform Cafe24 said Thursday that it has signed an agreement with CJ Logistics to provide fulfillment services to online shopping mall operators.

With the latest agreement, the two companies agreed to work together in providing a "guaranteed delivery date" service for online vendors, establishing fulfillment centers and delivery service for Cafe24 operators, optimizing international express delivery routes, and advancing IT system-linked logistics services.

The guaranteed delivery date service, which is scheduled to be introduced in January next year, is supposed to notify customers of the exact delivery date of purchased goods and ship them accordingly. In more than 90% of the country where there are no geographical restrictions such as islands or high mountains, next-day delivery of orders can be guaranteed.

Online operators using the Cafe24 platform can have differentiated delivery competitiveness while using the fulfillment service without large-scale logistics investments.

They also agreed to cooperate in strengthening international express delivery to expand overseas sales of Korean goods.

By optimizing the global logistics infrastructure owned and operated by the two companies, they will provide online operators with highly competitive overseas delivery services.

"Cafe24's e-commerce platform and CJ Logistics' advanced logistics infrastructure have become catalysts for the success of numerous online entrepreneurs," Lee Jae-seok, CEO of Cafe24 said. "The latest partnership between the two companies will lead to the creation of highly visible business ventures in the e-commerce market."
