South Korean automaker Hyundai Motor Co. has unveiled a new Grandeur sedan – the first fully revamped model in six years – to strengthen its mid- to large-size vehicle lineup.
The all-new Grandeur, the seventh-generation model, is 5,035 mm long, which is longer than Hyundai’s standalone premium brand Genesis car (4,995 mm) and affiliate Kia Corp.’s large sedan K8 (5,015 mm).
The new Grandeur comes in four types of engines – a 1.6-liter gasoline hybrid engine, a 2.5-liter gasoline engine, a 3.5-liter gasoline engine and a 3.5-liter liquefied petroleum gas engine.
It is equipped with 10 airbags and safety features such as front collision avoidance, highway driving assist, reverse parking collision avoidance and remote smart parking assist systems, the company said on Monday.

The latest model will go on sale in select global markets in the second quarter of 2023. Outside Korea, the premium sedan will be badged as Azera.
PRE-ORDERS ALREADY IN HIGH NUMBERS
Hyundai said it has already received 109,000 pre-orders from domestic consumers for the new premium sedan.
The carmaker said it aims to sell 130,000 units by the end of 2023 – 11,000 cars this year and 119,000 units next year.
The all-new Grandeur is priced at 37.16 million won ($28,211) for a gasoline model, 38.63 million won for an LPG car and 43.76 million won for a hybrid.

Hyundai Motor Chief Executive Chang Jae-hoon said the company has no plan to unveil an electric version of the Grandeur sedan but is closely looking at the market situation.
Hyundai first launched a Grandeur sedan in the domestic market in 1986.
For the latest Grandeur sedan, Korea’s No. 2 tire maker, Kumho Tire Co., will supply two types of noise-reduction tires. Two other Korean tire makers – Hankook Tire & Technology Co. and Nexen Tire Corp. – as well as Italian company Pirelli & C. S.p.A. also plan to supply their tires for the all-new Grandeur.
