LG Electronics Inc., one of South Korea’s leading home appliance makers, said on Monday it will help its business partners strengthen their cybersecurity practices.
As part of its environmental, social and governance (ESG) management, LG said it hosted a cybersecurity workshop for coexistence with its partners at its research center in southern Seoul.
About 50 partner companies as well as officials from the Ministry of Science and ICT, and the Korea Internet & Security Agency attended the event, it said.

LG said the workshop is designed to help its partners improve their cybersecurity competitiveness and preemptively respond to tightening cybersecurity regulations around the globe.
At the workshop, LG presented examples of cyberattacks and responses in the automotive sector. The company also introduced its partners to LG Secure Development Lifecycle (LG SDL), a system to predict and prepare for security problems across the entire process, from product development to launch.
