South Korean startup H Robotics will enter the Middle East with the rehabilitation robot Rebless, an FDA-registered robotic therapy device for both upper and lower extremities, providing treatment to the elbow, wrist, ankle and knee joints.
The healthcare and robotics startup announced Tuesday it was selected to partake in the Selat program jointly run by Invest Seoul, the Korea Trade-Investment Promotional Agency (KOTRA), and the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO).
The objective of ADIO is to help investors and companies of all sizes establish, grow and develop their businesses in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
Through the Selat program, companies can receive financial support and are subject to eased regulations when they enter the Abu Dhabi market. A total of eight companies have been selected this time around.
H Robotics develops, manufactures and distributes state-of-the-art rehabilitation solutions, including medical robots and data-driven, telemedicine offerings for people who suffer from neurological and musculoskeletal conditions.
The ADIO team will visit South Korea for three days from Nov. 21 to meet with companies here.
The Rebless is a remote solution that combines the use of rehabilitation robots and the internet of things (IoT).
“We have raised the brand recognition of Rebless in the region by attending the annual Arab Health exhibition every year,” an H Robotics employee told The Korea Economic Daily. “We want to use this opportunity to prove the value of Rebless in a market full of potential.”
The company plans to introduce an upper limb rehabilitation robot named Rebless Planar later this year.
