Seoulites are set to enjoy Gucci’s fine-dining experience from later this month.
The Italian luxury fashion house said on Wednesday it will open its fourth Gucci Osteria outpost on March 28 on the top of its Gucci Gaok flagship store in the Itaewon district in Seoul, which is famous for its cosmopolitan dining and nightlife.
Gucci is currently operating the Osteria outposts only in Florence, Los Angeles and Tokyo.
Gucci Osteria Seoul will be open for lunch, dinner and aperitivo at the main dining room with 28 seats and the outdoor terrace with 36 seats.
Massimo Bottura, the Michelin-starred chef behind the Gucci Osteria format, developed the menu along with Michelin-starred Karime Lopez, the executive chef of Gucci Osteria Florence, Seoul executive chef Hyungkyu Jun and head chef Davide Cardellini.
The restaurant plans to serve specially created delicacies blending Italy’s culinary culture with South Korea-derived flavors, as well as signature Gucci Osteria dishes such as the Emilia burger and the tortellini with parmigiano reggiano cream. It also has a list of 200 wines and a selection of cocktails.
“There is an invisible thread that runs through all Gucci Osterias worldwide. It connects Italian food with the food and products of other great global cuisines,” said Bottura. “In Korea - as in Italy - food is part of the culture, and I am very happy to welcome all guests to our Seoul outpost.”
