Top Korean LPs to discuss post-pandemic investments
The Korea Economic Daily is hosting Asia's biggest alternative investment forum in Seoul on Oct. 27, where chief executives of the National Pension Service (NPS) and the Korea Investment Corporation (KIC) will be giving keynote speeches.

Chief investment officers and senior managers of South Korea's leading institutional investors, including Korea Post, Public Officials Benefit Association (POBA) and Teachers' Pension, will join as speakers or panelists. They will be among around 100 participants from some 50 institutions at home and abroad.

At the beginning of the conference, NPS Chief Executive Kim Yong-jin will speak about the long-term asset allocation plans of the world's third-largest pension fund. This will be followed by a speech from KIC CEO Jin Seoungho. Jin took office in May of this year.

The biannual global conference will be held both online and offline simultaneously in Conrad Seoul hotel, and is sponsored by the NPS and the KIC.

Two Canada-based asset managers -- BentallGreenOak and Sera Global -- will give presentations on investment opportunities in Asia's real estate market.

The afternoon session will cover private equity and debt and secondary funds. Richard CS Park, CIO of the Korean Federation of Community Credit Cooperatives, will deliver a keynote speech.

Participants in the afternoon LP panel session will be Choe Hyung Don, NPS' head of private equity and venture capital; Song Sungjun, KIC's private equity head; Charles Lim, alternative investment head of Korea Post's savings arm; and Lee Chul Ho, overseas corporate finance head of Korea Teachers' Credit Union.

Ares Management Partners will speak about investment opportunities in the sports, media and entertainment markets. A presentation by BNP Paribas Asset Management will address infrastructure debt investments complying with environmental, social and governance standards amid digital transformation.
