South Korean game developer Netmarble Corp.’s Marvel Future Revolution, a new Marvel IP-based open-world action RPG, has topped the list of Apple App Store’s free games category in 117 countries.

According to the global mobile data analysis firms App Annie and Mobile Index, Marvel Future Revolution as of the noon of Aug. 25 was the most downloaded free game in 117 countries including Canada, France, Germany, Japan, the US and the UK even prior to its official launch at 5 pm (KST) on the same day. Pre-launch download figures are used as a yardstick in the gaming industry to measure gamers’ level of interest and anticipation.

Marvel Future Revolution is Netmarble’s second collaboration title between the company and Marvel. The first collaboration, Marvel Future Fight launched in 2015, has been enjoyed by 120 million gamers around the world to date.

Netmarble added that the new game was also one of the top three free games in India and Cambodia, the fast-growing markets in the global game industry.

Marvel Future Revolution was launched in 240 countries and regions around the world.
