South Korea-based display panel maker LG Display Co. and Walt Disney have teamed up to highlight the benefits of OLED TV through Disney's latest animated film, Raya and the Last Dragon, the Korean company announced on Mar. 7.

LG Display shared a 30-second OLED teaser on its YouTube channel, sharing clips from the Disney film to promote the "most eye-comfortable OLED TV," which is flicker-free with 50% less blue light emission than conventional TVs.

The OLED TVs were also used for a virtual animation event during Disney's virtual red carpet for Raya and the Last Dragon on Mar. 4.

"OLED TV offers the best viewing experience for families and presents the exact colors intended by the creators," said Lisa Cabello, marketing manager at Walt Disney Studios.

OLED, or organic light-emitting diode, is lit by self-illuminating pixels that do not require a separate light source, allowing manufacturers to produce lightweight, thin and flexible display products. LG Display has been producing OLED TV panels since 2013.

Last October, LG Display and Disney subsidiary StudioLAB entered a three-year partnership to combine the display maker's innovative OLED technology with Disney's content.

LG Display is set to supply its signature 88-inch OLED 8K TVs to the Disney subsidiary handling post-production for Disney studios' films.
