Industry players are keeping a close eye on LG Wing, to see if the new smartphone will put an end to the mobile communication division's record 21 consecutive quarters of deficit.

LG Electronics' strategy is to release new, bold and innovative products to set themselves apart from other smartphone manufacturers. The company plans to release a rollable smartphone during the first half of 2021 as part of the Explorer Project lineup.

Prior to revealing LG Wing, the company collaborated with industry partners Rave, Ficto, Tubi and NAVER to develop unique features to elevate the mobile viewing experience on Explorer Project devices.

Going forward, the company will continue to collaborate with platform companies to further expand the ecosystem.
