Daedong Group, South Korea's leading agricultural machinery manufacturer, said on Monday it established Daedong Robotics, an intelligent autonomous robot.
The group collaborated with the Korea Institute of Robotics & Technology Convergence (KIRO).
Daedong explained that it is fostering the robotics business at the enterprise level and has decided to establish a subsidiary to actively pursue agricultural and industrial artificial intelligence (AI) robotics.
Daedong Robotics will focus on business planning, product design, sales and marketing, and services for intelligent robot products across three areas: specialized service robots for agriculture and industry; personal service robots for mobility and transportation; and robots for special tasks like cleaning and snow removal.

Daedong Robotics aims to achieve sales of 100 billion won ($73 million) by 2029.
The company plans to launch agricultural robots for growing vegetables, fruits, and other crops to reduce working hours and increase agricultural productivity.
