Doosan Bobcat to build new factory in Mexico

Doosan Bobcat Inc., the construction and agricultural machine manufacturer of South Korea’s Doosan Group, announced on Wednesday it plans to build a new factory in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico.

The company will invest 400 billion won ($300 million) in a new production facility for establishing the Monterrey plant. It aims to meet the growing demand for construction equipment in the region.

The Monterrey factory, sprawling over 65,000 square meters, will focus on manufacturing Doosan Bobcat's flagship M-Series loaders. The new facility is strategically positioned to supply these loaders to the North American market.

The Gwinner factory in North Dakota, the US, which currently manufactures the M-Series, will shift its focus to the premium R-Series loaders.

Expected to commence operations in early 2026, the Monterrey facility is projected to increase Doosan Bobcat’s production capacity for North American loaders by 20%.

The establishment of the new factory in Monterrey expands Doosan Bobcat's global production footprint to eight countries, including South Korea, the US, the Czech Republic, Germany, India, and others.

Monterrey, known for its robust industrial sector, was chosen for this strategic expansion due to its skilled workforce, proximity to the US, and the tariff-free advantages offered under the US-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA).
