Doosan Bobcat, a South Korean manufacturer of construction equipment, announced on Friday that it participated in the ProMat 2023 trade show for supply chain and logistics held in Chicago from March 20 to 23.
The company had previously stated that it would focus on regional strategies using the Doosan and Bobcat brands, and at this event, the two brands had separate booths. Although Bobcat is mostly known for construction and agricultural equipment, it participated in a logistics equipment exhibition for the first time.
At the event, five forklifts were displayed, including a hydrogen forklift developed in collaboration with Plug Inc. (formerly Plug Power), which was introduced for the first time to North American customers.
Doosan Bobcat plans to expand the Bobcat brand in North American and European markets following the event. The Bobcat brand will also be applied to portable power products such as logistics equipment, mobile generators and forklifts in the future.
In countries where the Doosan brand has a strong presence, such as South Korea, China, India and Southeast Asia, it will continue to use the Doosan brand.
A Doosan Bobcat official stated that the company aims to expand its portfolio to target the North American logistics equipment market.
