S.Korea to build cold chain logistics center in Haiphong, Vietnam

The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries announced on Wednesday that South Korean company Jeil Construction has begun building a cold chain complex logistics center in the special economic zone at Nam Dinh Vu Port in Haiphong City, Vietnam.

The logistics center, covering 37,843 square meters (about 407,000 square feet), will include both ambient and refrigerated storage facilities. It is scheduled to begin operations in 2026, housing multiple Korean companies.

Haiphong is a major port city in northern Vietnam. Located in the city’s southeast, the Nam Dinh Vu Industrial Park is recognized as a key logistics hub with port facilities and bonded areas.

The bonded zone allows foreign goods to be inspected, manufactured, processed, displayed, constructed or sold without an import declaration.

“We supported a feasibility study for establishing a cold chain logistics center in northern Vietnam to address challenges faced by Korean companies in the Haiphong area,” said an official from the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries.
