South Korea's CJ Logistics announced on Tuesday that it completed the nationwide implementation of its next-generation parcel system LoIS Parcel.
This cloud-based next-generation delivery system is the first upgrade in 10 years and can process up to 20 million pieces of data per day.
Facing an exponential increase in parcel volumes and the accompanying data, CJ Logistics embarked on this system upgrade in 2021, developing a solution capable of meeting the growing demands of the delivery industry.
LoIS Parcel integrates all data related to parcel delivery operations, including reservation, sorting, dispatch, and settlement.
It also provides a mobile app for courier agents to facilitate pickup and delivery tasks, streamlining core delivery systems and operations management.
CJ Logistics has transitioned from a single server to a distributed setup of four servers to ensure uninterrupted operations.
This change guarantees that even if one server experiences issues, the overall system remains operational without disruption.
The company processes up to 10 million parcel data points daily and has focused on creating a system that can sustain stable operations over the long term, in line with the growth of the courier industry.
The shift to a cloud-based server environment addresses past challenges of rapidly scaling server capacity during peak periods, such as holidays when parcel volumes surge, enabling more efficient handling of increased loads.
