South Korea's Hanjin Transportation announced on Friday it has opened a representative office in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, to expand its logistics hub in the Asian region.
Hanjin has five subsidiaries in China and has also expanded into countries like Myanmar, Vietnam, Cambodia, Indonesia, and Uzbekistan.
Mongolia is the 10th country in Asia for Hanjin's expansion, and it plans to provide logistics services to local businesses by collaborating with companies like Korean Air Lines Co. and Dongyoung Shipping.
Hanjin explained that while South Korean companies are expanding into Mongolia, the local logistics infrastructure is still lacking, and establishing an office will create opportunities for its business expansion.
Additionally, it has plans to open a representative office in Malaysia this year to further expand its global logistics hub.
