Hanjin Transportation, a logistics and B2B/B2C delivery business subsidiary of South Korea’s Hanjin Group, has launched Hoot Town, a global consumer-to-consumer (C2C) overseas direct purchase platform for the first time in the industry to preempt the ultra-fast delivery market in the rapidly growing international e-commerce market.
Hoot Town is a service that integrates personal product transactions and information exchange into Hanjin’s overseas shipping agency service eHANEX, which was launched in 2011.
It features "Buy it for me," which allows you to request personal purchasing agency services between individuals, "Sell it to you," which allows you to register products for sale and "Meet together," a real-time community feature.
It also has a chat window with a Korean-English translation feature, and payment can be made in three different currencies including the won, dollar and yen.
Users who use Hoot Town to use agency services or sell products can also check their profits through their registered personal accounts in the currency of their choice after the product is shipped.
“We have built Hoot Town’s logistics process by linking local logistics bases and networks with companies targeting Korea, the United States, Japan, Germany and Hong Kong. We plan to expand the service countries in the future," a Hanjin official said.
