South Korean system integrator Doosan Logistics Solution (DLS) has won a deal to build a new distribution center at 75 billion won ( $57 million).
DLS, wholly owned by Doosan Corp., a holding company of Doosan Group, said on Thursday that it was selected as the preferred bidder for a project to build a hub logistics center for Daiso, a single-price store.
The hub center, to be built in the Eunnam Industrial Complex in Yangju, Gyeonggi Province, will have a total floor space of 173,421 square meters, with four stories above the ground.
The construction will be completed in June 2025.
The logistics hub will have an information system that will integrate state-of-the-art automation facilities with all other facilities needed for the operation, control, and real-time monitoring of the logistics center.
DLS will apply cutting-edge technologies such as a pick-to-conveyor system that can automatically store and ship medium-sized boxes using shuttles.
It will install a dashboard through which they can comprehend logistics process information in real time.
Kim Hwan-sung, CEO of DLS, said, "This shows our capability to provide optimized automation solutions that require high-level software capabilities," adding, "We will lead the market by supplying cutting-edge smart logistics solutions."
