Deloitte Korea, which operates accounting firm Deloitte Anjin LLC and consulting service provider Deloitte Consulting LLC, announced a reshuffle with the appointment of a new chief financial officer (CFO) and consulting division head on Friday to strengthen its consulting and management advisory services.
The South Korean member firm of Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Ltd. named Deputy CFO Kim Seok-ki as its new CFO and Deloitte Consulting LLC Chief Executive Bae Jae-min as Deloitte Korea’s new consulting division head on May 31. The reshuffle will be effective June 1.
Kim joined Deloitte Anjin in 2000 and spent 17 years in audit and consulting services. He was a partner for corporate clients and industry strategy for four years from 2017 and became the deputy CFO of Deloitte Korea in 2021. Kim earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern California and a master’s from the University of North Carolina.
Bae joined Deloitte Consulting as CEO in March of this year after spending more than 16 years at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Korea consulting on tech, digital transformation, enterprise resources planning and mergers and acquisitions.
Bae has led advisory services for Korean conglomerates such as Samsung Group, SK Group, LG Group, Hyundai Motor Group, Amorepacific Corp. and Kakao Corp. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a master’s in the same major from Korea University.
“This is Deloitte Global’s groupwide reorganization,” said Hong Jong Sung, CEO and country managing partner of Deloitte Korea.
“In line with Deloitte Global’s boardroom agendas, Deloitte Korea has launched services and built a new organizational structure that aligns with the changes in the local market and clients at the beginning of fiscal year 2025. We will differentiate the firm as the top player by accelerating organizational change, internal collaboration and cohesion and offering customized services,” added Hong.
With the appointments, Deloitte Korea will accelerate the overhaul of its digital sector consulting division and integrate its business management-related advisory services.
The consulting division will strengthen services for artificial intelligence, blockchain and data industries. It will have a particular focus on operational excellence, human capital and digital financial services.
The consulting service will include business operations, financial reform and enterprise solutions.
The management advisory division will combine financial and risk advisory services. The integrated unit aims to provide a comprehensive service for corporate risk management and M&As.
Deloitte Korea will operate four service delivery platforms led by its current managing partners: audit and assurance led by Jang Su-jae, tax and legal headed by Kwon Jee-won, management advisory led by Kil Ki-wan and growth strategy headed by Son Jae-ho.
Managing Partner Kim Joon-koo will continue to be responsible for reputation and risk management.
