Commercial vehicle guru Andersson leads MAN’s Korea, Australia businesses

Commercial vehicle veteran Peter Andersson is now managing MAN Truck & Bus SE’s businesses in South Korea and a cluster of Asia-Pacific countries, centered in Australia.

Andersson on April 1 took office as managing director of MAN Truck & Bus Korea Ltd. and head of the MAN Australia cluster, which covers 13 nations including some in Southeast Asia, according to the German commercial vehicle maker’s wholly owned subsidiary in South Korea.

Andersson, who has been leading commercial vehicle production, sales and services for 27 years in Asia, Europe and Africa, led MAN’s Russian business for about three and half years from 2016.

Man Truck & Bus Korea is the No. 3 commercial vehicle importer in the country, selling 833 units last year. Volvo Trucks Korea Co. topped the local market with sales of 1,680 commercial vehicles, followed by Scania Korea Group Ltd., which sold 1,116 units.

The Munich-headquartered commercial vehicle maker sold 116,000 trucks and buses worldwide in 2023.
