HD Hyundai held a 50th-anniversary vision declaration ceremony at its Global R&D Center in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, on Monday where it announced a new group name and corporate vision.

"If the past 50 years were a glorious history that decorated a page of economic development in our country, the next 50 years will be a history of innovation and creation when technology, the environment, and digital are combined," said Kwon Oh-gap, chairman of HD Hyundai.

HD Hyundai defined the group's mission as "Pioneering the future of mankind through innovation and relentless challenge leading the times."

As its three core business visions, it proposed: "Realizing the infinite potential of the sea" in the shipbuilding and marine sector; "realizing a sustainable future energy ecosystem" in the energy sector; and "providing industrial solutions that go beyond the limitations of time and space" in the industrial machinery sector.

The event was held after runners, including CEO Chung Ki-sun, completed a 341-km journey by foot as part of the "One Mind Walking Challenge" that kicked off on Nov. 16, and arrived at the Global R&D Center, the final destination.

"Leaders will take the initiative to make efforts to create a company you want to work for and where you can fully realize your dreams. I will do everything within my power to create a smarter work environment and corporate culture," said Chung Ki-sun, CEO of HD Hyundai.
