South Korea’s KCGI Asset Management, formerly Meritz Asset Management, announced on Friday that it has hired Cho Won-bok, former division head of Korea Investment & Securities, as its chief marketing officer (CMO).

Mr. Cho joined Tong Yang Investment Trust Management and served as the head of Tong Yang Asset Management's stock management team, Tong Yang Securities' customer asset management division, and Korea Investment & Securities' employment insurance fund management division.

KCGI Asset Management explained that it recruited Mr. Cho under the judgment that it needs a person in charge of systematically operating the asset sourcing and marketing directions that meet each customer's individual needs.

"I will do my best to upgrade the status of KCGI Asset Management, which is starting anew by developing products and services that meet the needs of institutions, corporations and retail customers," Mr. Cho said.

Meanwhile, the company, which changed its name from Meritz Asset Management to KCGI Asset Management earlier this month, will move its headquarters from Bukchon, Seoul to Yeoido, and start anew under the slogan of "Lifelong Partner for Economic Independence of Customers."
