Four stocks, including EcoPro Co., have been added to the Morgan Stanley Capital International (MSCI) Korea Index, and two have been removed.
MSCI, a global stock index provider, announced on Thursday (local time) that EcoPro Co., Hanmi Semiconductor Co., Hanwha Ocean Co., and JYP Entertainment Corp. will be added to the MSCI Korea Index.
Conversely, CJ Corp. and E-Mart Inc. are set to be excluded from the index.
EcoPro, which was previously eyed as a potential addition during the May assessment, failed to secure its spot because of significant price surges at that time.
These changes will take effect at the close of trading on Aug. 31.
MSCI's criteria for index inclusion are based on total and liquid market capitalizations. Stocks that are featured in the index can typically expect increased attention from global passive funds that track the benchmark,
