The Asan Nanum Foundation selected Big Mobility and Hummingbirds as the top winners of the 13th Chung Ju-yung Startup Competition demo day on November 7.
The event is a debut stage for various startups that will inherit the entrepreneurial spirit of Hyundai Group founder Chung Ju-yung and create a better world, the foundation said.
Big Mobility, which operates the freight truck parking platform Truck Helper, won the top prize in the Growth Track for early-stage startups.
In the Challenge Track, aimed at prospective startups, Hummingbirds took first place for its internal communication solution, Baby Whale.
Big Mobility was awarded 60 million won ($43,340) in prize money, while Hummingbirds received 30 million won.
All 12 teams participating in the competition, including the winners, will benefit from additional support for global expansion, marketing, expert mentoring, and connections to venture capital investors.
Celltrion founder and Chairman Seo Jung-jin delivered a keynote address at the event, encouraging entrepreneurs to “keep challenging and never fear failure or giving up easily.”
