The Korea International Trade Association announced on Tuesday that the largest domestic startup fair in South Korea, NextRise 2024 Seoul," will be held on June 13-14 at COEX in Gangnam-gu, Seoul.
NextRise, an event jointly hosted annually by the trade association and Korea Development Bank since 2019, has introduced the guest country system this year and designated Japan as the first guest country.
Accordingly, 15 major Japanese companies and investment firms such as Mitsubishi, Mizuho, Sony, Rakuten, and Incubate Fund, along with about 30 startups, and business organizations including the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) and Japan Association of Corporate Executives will participate in large numbers.
Innovative startups from South Korea and Japan will exchange ideas and seek various business cooperation opportunities at this venue.
During the event, the (South) Korea-Japan Open Innovation Summit will take place on the main stage, with participation from major companies and startups from both countries. Additionally, sessions on Korea-Japan venture capital cooperation organized by Lotte Ventures and an exchange meeting on Korea-Japan ecosystems hosted by JETRO will be held.
Especially in the one-on-one business meet-up event, more than 60 global corporations including luxury goods giant LVMH and Airbus, Renault, Intel, and over 160 investment firms and domestic companies and investors, will participate to discuss practical business cooperation opportunities with startups.
