South Korea's game developer and publisher Pearl Abyss Corp. announced on Wednesday that it's preparing to launch its cross-platform MMORPG Black Desert in China with Tencent, China's largest game and tech company.
At the Spark 2024 gaming conference held the previous day, Tencent introduced Black Desert as part of its new lineup and presented the game to the Chinese market.
Since its open beta in South Korea in 2014 and official release in the Korean market in 2015, Black Desert has become Pearl Abyss's flagship title, enjoyed by over 50 million players worldwide in 12 languages.
Pearl Abyss announced that, together with Tencent, it plans to focus on localization efforts, including obtaining the necessary game version number for a stable launch of Black Desert in China.
