Korea Ginseng Corp. (KGC), wholly owned by South Korean tobacco giant KT&G Corp., announced on June 13 that it sells its red ginseng brand Jung Kwan Jang products in Malaysia.
KGC will its flagship products, including HongSamJeong Everytime (a red ginseng extract), Hong Sam Won (a red ginseng drink), and Good BASE Pomegranate with Korean Red Ginseng Stick, in Guardian and Watsons stores, the local distribution channels of healthy functional food and cosmetics.
There are 600 Guardian stores and 700 Watsons stores in Malaysia.
The size of the Malaysian health functional food market has grown by 60%, from 1.5 trillion won ($1.08 billion) in 2018 to 2.4 trillion won as of October last year.
KGC is also expanding its business in the ASEAN region, having recently strengthened its marketing activities in Vietnam and Singapore.
In Singapore, KGC has entered major local shopping malls and department stores, where it sells products such as HongSamJeong Everytime.
