Yonsei Milk, a non-profit social contribution company of South Korea's Yonsei University, announced on Friday that it will export its mega-hit dessert in the domestic market Yonsei Cream Milk Bread to Taiwan.
It’s the first export of Yonsei Milk’s product.
The cumulative sales of Yonsei Cream Milk Bread in South Korea reached 50 million units. After the product was released, it went viral on social media with photos of the bread being sliced in half to reveal the amount of cream inside. It became so popular that it was even sold out at one point.
Yonsei Milk will initially supply the bread to 3,000 convenience stores across northern Taiwan. Starting in Taiwan, the company plans to expand overseas markets.
The company will export two lineups of Yonsei Cream Milk Bread: the original (milky flavor) and chocolate (chocolate flavor with chips.)
"The raw milk used in the Cream Bread is Grade 1A sourced from a farm dedicated to Yonsei Milk,” a Yonsei Milk source said. “We look forward to this bread will be the flagship product of Korean dessert in the overseas market.”
