BTS member Jungkook's first solo single, "Seven," has debuted at No. 1 on the US Billboard Hot 100 songs chart.

This is only the second time in K-pop history that a solo artist has debuted at number one on the Hot 100, following BTS teammate Jimin's "Like Crazy” in April.

It is also the 68th time in Billboard's history that an artist has debuted at No. 1 on the chart.

Billboard announced on Monday on its official social media that Jungkook's "Seven" beat out stiff competition from country singer Jason Aldean's "Try That In A Small Town" and Morgan Wallen's hit "Last Night" to take the top spot.

Jungkook's "Seven" is a summer song about wanting to spend a whole week with the one you love, and combines his sweet voice with a sophisticated pop sensibility.

The Hot 100 is the main chart of the US Billboard Hot 100, which is the "top" of many charts.

The Hot 100 is ranked based on a combination of US streaming data, radio airplay and sales data.

"Seven" earned 21.9 million streams, 6.4 million radio airplay points and 153,000 combined digital-CD sales during this ranking period.

As a South Korean solo artist, Psy previously held the No. 2 spot for seven consecutive weeks with "Gangnam Style," which became a global phenomenon in 2012.
