
Korea Investment Corporation
KIC is South Korea’s sovereign wealth fund and manages foreign currency assets entrusted by the Ministry of Economy and Finance and the Bank of Korea. It manages $157.3 billion as of the end of 2019, of which alternative investments make up $24.5 billion, or 15.6%. KIC made its foray into alternative investments in September 2009 with a PE investment. The annualized return from its alternative investments, including real estate, infrastructure and hedge funds, averages 7.56%.
