KIC is South Korea’s sovereign wealth fund and manages foreign currency assets entrusted by the Ministry of Economy and Finance and the Bank of Korea. It manages $157.3 billion as of the end of 2019, of which alternative investments make up $24.5 billion, or 15.6%. KIC made its foray into alternative investments in September 2009 with a PE investment. The annualized return from its alternative investments, including real estate, infrastructure and hedge funds, averages 7.56%.

Park Dae-yang (David Park)Chief Investment Officer
Park is an investment expert leading the investment activities of South Korea's sovereign wealth fund. Prior to this current CIO role at KIC, he had another successful tenure as the CIO of Teachers' Pension. Park has more than 30 years of investment track record at various organization including Samsung Life Insurance and HDC Asset Management.

Kim Jong-ho (James Kim) Deputy CIO & Head of Alternative Investment Division
Kim is Deputy CIO and Head of Alternative Investment Division at KIC where he oversees PE, Real Estate, Infrastructure, and Absolute Returns sectors totaling over $25 billion of AUM. He joined KIC in 2012 and took numerous leadership roles in private market investing. His previous responsibilities include forming investment strategy as Head of PE and Head of Real Estate & Infrastructure. Before KIC, Kim was Head of Finance and Acquisitions at HSEC, Hanwha Group's solar downstream investment arm. Kim received a BS degree from Seoul National University and master's degree in real estate from Harvard University.
Suh Ik-hoManaging Director of Alternative Investment Strategy Group
Suh leads Alternative Investment Strategy at the KIC, where he is in charge of implementing its investment strategies and policies for private market investments including PE, real estate, and infrastructure. Prior to his current role, Mr. Suh served as the head of KIC’s New York and London offices, where he was responsible for investments in America and Europe. Suh joined KIC in 2005.
Park Jin-seongManaging Director of Absolute Returns Group
Park joined KIC in 2006 and is in charge of Hedge Fund Investment. Prior to his current role, he was in the Investment Strategy Group for 3 years and Risk Management Team for 7 years. Park is also a member of the Investment Working Committee and the Risk Management Working Committee at KIC. Park received his BA and MA degrees in business administration from Seoul National University.
Huh Yoon-hyuckDirector of Absolute Returns
Huh is responsible for Absolute Returns Group within KIC's Alternative Investment Division. He previously worked as the Head of Strategic Investment Team at Daewoo Securities and as a Supervising Senior at KPMG. Huh holds a BA in Mass Communications from Korea University and an MBA from Northwestern University with specialization in Accounting and Finance.
Huh Jae-youngManaging Director of Global Real Estate Investments
Huh is the Managing Director and Head of Global Real Estate Investments. He is one of the founding investment managers at KIC since 2005, and has been responsible for establishing and running KIC’s global private market investment programs. At KIC he also served as Head of Global Private Equity Investments and led private market investments in Americas for over 6 years.
Hahn Young-seok (Paul)Senior Director of PE
Hahn oversees the direct and co-investments with PE sponsors as well as LP fund investment to leading PE/private credit funds. He joined KIC in 2014 and has led multiple direct and co-investment deals, also being responsible for US private equity portfolio. He received a BS in Chemistry and BA in Economics from Seoul National University and a Master's in Foreign Policy from Georgetown University.
