Genesis, the luxury car brand of Hyundai Motor, has unveiled a convertible concept model in Southern California.

In Malibu Tuesday, Genesis introduced its first convertible X Convertible as the third model of the brand's X Concept series.

Like the previously released X and X Speedium Coupe concept models, the X Convertible features the fusion of the brand's design philosophy and future. Use of the convertible's ability to remove the roof follows the theme 'driving experience featuring interaction with the natural environment.'

Genesis Chief Creative Officer Luc Donckerwolke said his brand is special for its flexibility that led to the creation of the X Concept series in various forms, adding that the convertible reflects customer needs under a design focused on driving pleasure and a sensory experience.

The X Convertible applies a hardtop moonroof based on dynamic elegance and emphasizes refined luxury with neat lines and exquisite curves.

The front crest grill has evolved with the leading design elements of Genesis in line with the electrification era. The parabolic line begins at the hood, passes through the belt line and makes a smooth curve to the end of the rear.

Reminiscent of the Genesis logo in the rear are the two rows of quad-lamp brake lights and V-shaped brakes. The interior carries on the direction of the X Concept series with a cockpit in which the driver is surrounded by the control system and display.

In a tribute to Korean tradition, the model features two colors inspired by the roof of a traditional Korean house. The colors 'dancheong orange' and 'giwa navy,' inspired by dancheong, a coloring technique for patterns applied to traditional Korean wooden buildings, and giwa, a traditional roof tile, complete a most unique atmosphere.

The exterior color, the pearly white 'crane white,' was inspired by the bird's divine and elegant appearance.

At the auto show in Los Angeles that opens Friday, Genesis will display the X Convertible along with others from its leading electric vehicle (EV) lineup such as the Electrified GV70 and G80 and the EV GV60.

The brand will also show its flagship sedan G90, GV80, GV70 and X Speedium Coupe concept car.
