South Korean homegrown burger and chicken brand Mom's Touch & Co. announced on Monday that it will open its first directly managed store Shibuya Mom's Touch in Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan.

The Shibuya store will be 418 square meters and 200 seats in the space where the local McDonald's has operated for the past 39 years.

"This location is adjacent to Shibuya Scramble Square, with a daily floating population of about 3 million people," a Mom's Touch source said. "It's situated in a prime area with Shibuya Station and large shopping malls densely packed in the vicinity."

Mom's Touch plans to introduce a reservation system and enhance communication with local customers through pre-promotions.

In October 2023, Mom's Touch ran a pop-up store in Shibuya, Tokyo.
Participating in the Tokyo Franchise Show, Japan's largest franchise trade fair will be held in Tokyo from Mar. 13 to 15, Mom's Touch aims to explore potential partners for franchise businesses in the Japanese market.

"The market value of the Japanese burger market is estimated at $5.3 billion, and we plan to promote the excellence of K-burgers in Japan, driving expansion further into international markets," a Mom's Touch source explained.
