South Korean food giant CJ CheilJedang Corp. announced on Friday that it has signed a business agreement with Kakao Healthcare, a digital healthcare platform unit of South Korea's Kakao Corp. The collaboration aims to develop diabetic-friendly foods and cooperate in the area of health management.

Both companies have set a common goal of "promoting a healthy life for everyone" and have decided to collaborate in the fields of food and platform services to provide convenient health management options for diabetes patients and those concerned about sugar-related health issues.

They also plan to undertake campaigns to raise awareness about the importance of blood sugar management and pool their efforts for the enhancement of national health.

"We expect the synergy between our accumulated expertise and innovative technology in the home meal replacement business and Kakao Healthcare will enable us to offer better products and services to consumers," Head of CJ CheilJedang Foods Pak Minsok said. "We are dedicated to fostering a healthy eating culture that brings joy to everyone, including those facing health problems."

Hwang Hee, CEO of Kakao Healthcare, shared his expectation that through this collaboration, his company will be able to provide enjoyable and sustainable personalized nutrition services to populations with chronic conditions like diabetes. "I hope to expand cooperation toward the shared goals of digital healthcare and food technology," he added.
