The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety of South Korea announced on Friday that it will conduct an invited training program for food safety officials from Thailand and Malaysia from Aug. 13 to 19, lasting for seven days.
This training aims to share food safety management expertise with officials from Asian countries, particularly those with significant food trade relations with South Korea, in order to enhance technical cooperation and exchange between these nations. A similar program was held last year for Vietnam and Indonesia.
South Korea exports products like tuna, seaweed and instant noodles to Thailand, while exporting items like instant noodles, cornstarch and coffee products to Malaysia.
During the training, the ministry will introduce South Korea's food safety management system, food standards and regulations and hazard analysis and critical control point (HACCP) principles.
In addition, a "Exported Food Policy Seminar" will be held on Aug. 17 in Seoul's Yoido, to help domestic companies better understand import regulations in both countries.
Companies interested in participating in the seminar can pre-register on the Korea Agency of HACCP Accreditation and Services (KAHAS) website.
