Canada's leading coffee brand Tim Hortons to enter S.Korea

Canada's No. 1 coffee chain Tim Hortons unveiled plans on Wednesday to enter South Korea, announcing its intention to open its first flagship store in the country in the second half of 2023 as part of the company's global expansion strategy.

Tim Hortons, a subsidiary of global food company RBI, which also owns Burger King and Popeyes, will be operated in South Korea by BKR, the local operator for Burger King. With a 60-year history, the chain is renowned for using 100% premium Arabica beans in its coffee and offering a wide range of donut options.

As Tim Hortons operates more than 5,600 stores in 15 countries worldwide, the brand aims to tap into one of the largest and fastest-growing coffee markets.

"We are excited to enter South Korea, one of the largest and fastest-growing coffee markets," David Shear, president international of Restaurant Brands International at RBI said. "Based on Tim Hortons' signature menu and warm service culture, we will contribute to the Korean community."
