LG Electronics Inc. announced on Sunday that it has been honored with the 28th BPW Gold Award from the Korea Federation of Business & Professional Women (BPW Korea). The award recognizes individuals and companies that have made significant contributions to improving women's status, creating jobs and advancing gender equality.
The South Korean electronics company was commended for its various initiatives aimed at promoting diversity and inclusion and discovering and nurturing female talents. In particular, the company extended its parental leave period from one year to two years last year to support a better work-life balance for its employees.
Additionally, LG Electronics has implemented a family-friendly system that supports shorter working hours during childcare.
To further support gender equality, LG Electronics is also actively working to attract and retain female talent. The company is hosting an online recruitment briefing session called "LG Day" for undergraduate students at women's universities and participating in a job fair organized by Women in Science, Engineering and Technology.
