The certifications include high dynamic range (HDR) Brightness Accuracy, which accurately represents the brightness levels of HDR content, and True Cinema Black, which recognizes superior local dimming technology for clear dark scenes similar to a cinema experience.
HDR technology provides a detailed depiction of both bright and dark areas in video content.
VDE evaluated that the certified products accurately express content brightness levels based on HDR signal standards.
Superior local dimming performance which minimizes light interference allows for precise representation of the letterbox mode commonly used when watching movies without light bleeding.
